Poplarville Soccer organizations Meet with MYSA

On Saturday August 28, 2004 the Poplarville Soccer Club and Poplarville Athletic association met with MYSA to discuss the current soccer situation in Poplarville. While at times it was a questionable debate at times by the other side, we had our say. It is now in the hands of the MYSA Executive council. We left Jackson with uncertainty and anticipation of the outcome. We will not know the outcome until today or tomorrow when the executive Director of MYSA Brent Clements call each party and gives us the councils decision. We as the PSC board have always said we will have soccer with our without MYSA. We would rather do it under the umbrella of MYSA, but if not possible we will venture out to other organizations that have expressed an interest in our club.

One theme that was brought out of the meeting by board members was working together. Of course PAA has told us they do not want the PSC involved in PAA. The current leadership of the PAA prohibits a mutual agreement. They are not interested in parental wishes. Otherwise they would have at least had a parents forum before making the decision of going to one season to hear out the majority of parents. Parents that only want one season can only play one season if they choose too. They are paying the same price for one season as they did with two. That decision does not hold water.

What do you think?
