On July 26, 2004, the Poplarville Soccer Club announced that they were petitioning the Mississippi Youth Soccer Association for the youth soccer charter for the local area that encompasses the northern part of Pearl River County from McNeil to Lumberton. Rossie Creel the president of the club said, “In order for soccer to grow in our community we must have a soccer only organization running the program. “ Mr. Creel has been in contact with M.Y.S.A. and they have requested a letter and signed petition in order to consider the motion in the organizations next board meeting in the first couple of weeks of August.
